Client:Big Cat Rescue

Type:print & poster design

Big Cat Rescue's 55-acre Sanctuary in Tampa is home to over 100 abandoned, abused, and orphaned exotic cats, including lions, tigers, and many more species. This poster and social campaign educated the public on how circuses can be harmful to animals and why people should avoid going. Added pressure from organizations like Big Cat Rescue has finally gotten tigers a suitable retirement home far from the cruelty of the circus tents and the cramped cages that rest in their shadows.

The award-winning posters were part of a series that stretched across out-of-home and throughout an Anti-Circus social media campaign. Not only did it drive viewers to the website to educate and drive donations, but it also performed at its number one task—to frame massive negative sentiment towards the circuses.

Big Cat in the wild

Besides being a noble cause that everyone can really get behind, working with Big Cat Rescue was very rewarding. The ideas for the art were simple in concept and challenging in execution, which really allowed for the elevation of craft and technique. These posters were featured in Lurzer's Archive and won an Obie award.
